About Lesley
Have you ever wondered why your musical progress feels stagnant despite hours spent practicing alone? With 11 years of experience teaching hundreds of students, I provide the structure necessary to build technique without losing the joy of playing. My approach covers jazz improvisation, scales and arpeggios, dynamics and expression, sight reading, pop and contemporary, and pedaling technique.
Students often struggle with technical hurdles that inhibit their performance, which is why I address these barriers directly. I emphasize precision and methodology to ensure that students perform confidently within a single term. Working with me means engaging with a 6.0 standard of excellence.

Lessons begin with a diagnostic playing assessment to establish a clear and effective learning plan for your specific goals. My 11 years of experience as a Berklee graduate ensure that we focus on building foundational technique before exploring complex repertoire.
We address specific dynamics, sight reading, and proper pedalling to refine your overall sound. I expect students to arrive prepared to work through technical challenges and musical theory concepts in every meeting.
We spend time on jazz improvisation, pop arrangements, and contemporary styles to keep your practice varied and engaging. I monitor your progress closely to ensure that your technical development remains consistent. It is a process of refinement that requires patience.
