About Leoni
I am an English and History student at the University of Leicester. I have worked in two different schools, helping pupils in their lessons supporting their learning and gaining the relevant skills needed. Additionally I have been trained with a programme called REACH that provides mentoring to secondary school and college students. My main aim is to understand the pupils needs and wants for themselves regarding their learning and then work with them to achieve their goals. A positive outlook is a foundation to success. Thereafter I would work with the student tackling the syllabus requirements employing revision techniques as well as past papers to prepare them for the exams. I believe, together with study and learning, confidence and understanding is at the forefront of each session.

The way I teach is a reflection of how I myself study. That would be to approach the content with an open mind and be sure to cover anything I do not understand. Ultimately though, in my teaching, it would be important to first gain a sense of what the pupil does not understand and ask them about their approach to the situation. A positive mindset is what is to be established from the very beginning. Past papers, study and revision techniques are standard practices that would be applied in sessions.
