About Emrys
I hold a bachelor’s degree in music with a specialization in piano performance and have over 8 years of experience teaching students of all levels. My passion for piano began in childhood and has grown into a fulfilling career dedicated to nurturing musical talent and confidence in others. Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with beginners and advanced players alike, customizing lessons to suit each individual’s goals and learning style. I believe in creating a positive and encouraging environment where students feel motivated to explore and express themselves through music. My teaching focuses on developing strong technical skills, musical interpretation, and sight-reading abilities. I emphasize the importance of both practice and creativity, helping students not only play notes but also bring emotion and personality to their performances. Beyond teaching, I remain actively engaged in music through performance and continuous study, which allows me to bring fresh ideas and inspiration into the lesson room. My mission is to inspire a lifelong love of piano and music in every student I work with.

Piano lessons are designed to build a strong foundation in technique, musicality, and theory. Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn the basics or an advanced player looking to refine your skills, lessons are tailored to your unique goals and pace.
Early sessions focus on proper hand positioning, finger strength, and reading music. These fundamentals are essential for developing control and confidence at the keyboard. As you progress, we introduce more complex pieces and explore dynamics, phrasing, and expression to bring your playing to life.
Sight-reading and ear training are key components, helping you become a versatile and responsive musician. I incorporate a variety of musical genres to keep lessons engaging and to broaden your repertoire.
Performance preparation is also emphasized, whether for recitals, exams, or personal achievement. Through supportive guidance and consistent practice strategies, my goal is to help you enjoy playing the piano and develop a lifelong passion for music.
