About Lael River
I am currently a master's student studying computational physics with a focus in condensed matter theory and atomic physics. I have research experience with NASA, Caltech, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. I have previously taught chemistry, math, and physics at the elementary, middle, and college levels in both in-person and remote settings.

I am based in Los Angeles and able to accommodate locally to students. I have experience with teaching online classes as well and can accommodate if a student would prefer a remote lesson.
I am open to teaching all levels but focus mostly on calculus and calculus-based physics. I tend to mold my teaching mostly based on the student's needs and the goal of understanding the material. If you ever have questions please feel free to ask!

River was great! He cleared up something I'd been getting wrong for a long time: I thought heavier objects fall faster. River helped me understand that without air resistance, every object falls at the same rate. After a few sessions, I could work through falling object problems on my own, and that helped me pass my undergrad. I'd recommend River to any physics or even math student who wants to understand the concepts, not just memorize formulas!
River is a very good tutor. He's very knowledgeable and easy to work with.
