About Cole

I am a professional musician that holds a bachelor's degree in jazz studies - performance/composition and would love to share my knowledge with you! I've been playing bass music for nearly 20 years and have developed a solid understanding of musicality, music theory, and technique.

Background in various styles of music such as jazz, funk, west african music, hip-hop, soul, rock, reggae, latin and more. From Jazz festivals to wallflower gigs I have a large range of experience and insight into performing in a variety of situations.

I believe that learning music should be fun, which is why I like to teach musical concepts through playing. Learning music doesn't require a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather an understanding of each student's learning style. We'll work together to find the path of least resistance to realizing your musical goals.

About the lesson

Bass players looking to take their musicianship to the next level or take their first steps look no further! With over 15 years of bass playing experience I would love to share my knowledge and love of music with you.

Lessons are centered around growing your skills with music you can connect to. We'll cover the basics to make sure that you don't just know how to play the music, but can understand how it works.

I can offer help with:
-Learning songs you love
- Getting solid technique
- Crafting bass lines in a variety of styles
- Basic to advanced music theory
- Improvisation
- Composition
- Preparing for a performance and stage etiquette
- preparing for a contemporary/jazz music school audition and so much more
