About April
Teaching guitar involves a strange mix of technical discipline and pure messy creativity that I developed after years of self-taught experimentation. Formalizing those early habits through my Bachelor of Music in Industry at Belmont University helped me bridge the gap between cassette tape intuition and professional theory. I have guided 400 students over 13 years through lead guitar hurdles, chord transitions, and maintenance tasks.
Learning scales, modes, and rhythm guitar is much easier when someone shows up at your door with an amp and a pedalboard. Whether you are stuck on barre chords or want to dig into blues progressions and songwriting, I keep things real. Let me know when you want to start making some noise together.

Pacing remains flexible because speed is secondary to understanding the mechanics behind every note. I use custom backing tracks so you can practice soloing at home with a professional foundation.
Studying at Belmont University taught me how to break down complex theory into manageable chunks for your practice time. Feedback happens in real time while we sit in your living room.
You will see how to apply those grade exam prep concepts directly to your fretboard without wasting time on theory that does not stick. I bring the gear so we focus on actual playing rather than setup logistics. Getting better requires consistent repetition rather than complex academic drills during our time together.
