About Joel
My passion for teaching began when I became a leader of a computer science education non-profit in the Bay Area. Here I developed and taught curriculum in coding and electrical engineering (e.g. Arduino) to middle and high school students. I went on to become a TA at UC Berkeley where I taught college students in topics ranging from discrete math, computer architecture, and graduate-level computer graphics. Finally, I have experience working in the classroom setting right here in San Diego as a current tutor for the Sweetwater District.

I'm a San Diego native. Not too long ago I was in your shoes at Wilson Middle School and Hoover High. After I went off to college I acquired a passion for teaching that I'm excited to bring back to my hometown. I like to keep lessons fun students! I've gone as far as coding entire video games to make my students' learning more engaging. I will work with you to find what teaching style suits you best!
