About Ellie
I recently received my bachelors in English from UC Berkeley and graduated with High Distinction (equivalent to magna cum laude). I am passionate about all aspects of English and can tutor in a variety of areas including reading literature, writing essays, and preparing for the SAT writing and reading sections (I am a Commended student of the National Merit Program and placed in the 96th percentile of PSAT test-takers).

I believe that anyone can learn to master reading and writing if they are taught clearly and provided with a sufficient amount of time to develop the skills. This is why my teaching methodology is to give lessons in structured, understandable ways so that the student can grasp the concepts to build a strong, comprehensive knowledge base. Learning any skill takes time! But if someone is dedicated to attaining mastery, it is certainly possible, regardless of the level at which the individual starts. Most importantly, I keep sessions fun and engaging while still staying on track and accomplishing great feats.
