About the lesson

“Coach Travis McAvene is a great coach and even better person. I played for Coach McAvene at the 2016 Mitchell Cup in Santiago Dominican Republic and he led our team to the Championship. He’s a player’s coach and understands how to get the best out of his players! He is constantly challenging them to become better by giving them goals to strive for. Over the years I have seen how Coach McAvene trains and mentors his players. He develops them to be better people off the court. I would recommend Travis McAvene as a Head Coach at the highest level of basketball because he has what it takes to be successful! Erron Maxey Providence College (Big East)

“Coach McAvene is not only a great coach but also a great man! I was blessed to be a part of the best team ever at Southern State Community College (25-3), which Coach McAvene assembled piece by piece. Coach Mac provided me with plenty of opportunities in which I was able to maximize, Ultimately he helped mold me into the player I am today. I owe him a lot. His mind for the game is amazing
Ty Harris Southern State Community College & Columbus State University (Peach Belt) Professional basketball Player DINAMO VLADIVOSTOK (Russia-Superleague)

From the first time I met Coach McAvene in Indiana was my first experience taking my career to what it is now. I didn’t know what to expect or who I would become. Playing for Coach Mac has shown me how to work hard and believe in myself. He has given me great things to build on in life and on the court. I was very blessed to be put in the path as a professional player. It has taken me to places you can only dream of. He has a special gift when it comes helping players get to reach their full potential. I would love for him to coach me on any team at any level. It was an awesome experience to play for Coach McAvene at the 2021 United Cup in La Vega, Dominican Republic and win a Championship!
