About Tim
My name is Tim, I am a native German speaker and I teach German and English for almost 10 years. I worked in primary and secondary schools in Germany (both private and state) and moved to the UK in 2017. Currently, I tutor students in small groups and in one-to-one settings.
Furthermore, I have years of experience working with dyslexic and autistic students and students with ADHD and I would be happy to adjust the teaching approach to any kind of special need.

I like the communicative approach and encourage students to actively recall and practice the target language as much as possible during the lesson. I focus on immersion in "real life" situations, e.g. saying hi to the new, elderly neighbour, ordering 'Kaffee und Kuchen' or discussing the latest Stephen King. Depending on the student's level and learning needs, I provide the grammatical basics before immersing more, give instant feedback with respect to pronunciation and make use of games and quizzes.
However, I studied linguistics and English literature and have a master's degree both in English and Philosophy and I would be more than happy to tailor the lessons to more academic needs (GCSE, A-level preparation).
