About Lize
I am a molecular biologist offering lessons in biology. I have three degrees, a BSc in Life Science, a BSC Honours and a MSc in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Cape Town. I have been a postgraduate researcher for the last three years, where I gained valuable hands-on experience.
I have been a tutor since 2014, both for high school and varsity students. I have tutored chemistry, biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology and physics. I have a passion for biology and enjoy teaching and guiding students in this exciting subject.

I am willing to give lessons to high school and first year varsity students in the subjects of biology, biochemistry, genetics and microbiology.
I am a visual and audio learner and I try structure lessons to include both these aspects. A lesson with me generally starts out with a small lecture or chat about the material and covering the concepts. I then try to move on to answering questions and completing exercises on the subject (I feel this challenges our understanding of the concepts we just learnt and prepares us for tests and exams). I then generally will send you home with some quick notes and some homework for next time. I also provide links to relevant YouTube videos you can access remotely for more information on a topic. I firmly believe in teaching students how to access information and train themselves, to one day teach themselves independently.
