About Maya
Hi! My name is Maya, and I am an Organismal Biology major. Throughout highschool I was an avid AP student, taking multiple AP science and math classes. My main focus was AP Chemistry and AP Calculus, and I scored a 5 on both exams. I love teaching, and wholeheartedly believe that chemistry and math can be enjoyable and fun. I am also completely fluent in Spanish! Outside of STEM studies, I love to play the piano and work as a music director.

I love teaching, and prefer to approach problems through example based learning. I pride myself in being able to simplify complex topics, making them easy and fun to understand. I'm best suited to teach highschool chemistry and calculus, as well as introductory college chemistry and math. I believe in dividing tutoring time between going over concepts and going over homework, so students get a solid basis of understand as well as specific help on problems they are struggling with.
