About Ben
I graduated with honors in Biochemistry and a minor in Mathematics from Hamilton College, where I also led afterschool math and science lessons. I gained further teaching experience through the Boys and Girls Club, working with students to improve math and science test scores after school. I have been awarded prestigious NIH research fellowships and am currently pursuing my PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Utah. My blend of strong academic training, research excellence, and hands-on teaching experience allows me to guide students with both expertise and encouragement.

Subjects Offered: Math (Pre-algebra -> Calculus) Chemistry (High School -> College) Biology (High School -> College) SAT/ACT Math & Science Prep My Tutoring Approach Students are busy; therefore, I keep my sessions fast-paced and engaging with quick drills that help students stay focused and motivated. I also understand that learning can be stressful, that is why I incorporate positive feedback and use “I can” statements to build confidence and show progress. Typical Lesson Plan Each session runs 30–45 minutes to maximize attention and efficiency. Lessons begin with student-guided warm-up review, followed by targeted practice on key concepts, and end with short drills to reinforce learning. What Sets Me Apart I balance challenge with encouragement—pushing students without building confidence is useless. I will give students confidence in the classroom or on test day.
