About Emilie
I have been working in advertising for 10 years. For the past two, I've been with Apple's dedicated creative agency as a Strategist. I spend my days at work both reading and writing—and while I don't have time to write much fictional work, a huge part of my role is writing for a creative audience. I love to read, and am particularly drawn to stories about human connection and relationships. In high school, my favorite area of study was English, and I was a passionate member of the debate team.

I prefer to work with students on structured, real world writing applications. This might mean building on assignments directly from class, or submitting to writing contests and challenges (e.g. NYT Summer Reading Challenge).
I'd like to think that I am a kind and patient tutor, with an ability to help students tap into their unique style. Writing should be enjoyable, and I pride myself on being able to engage students who might be struggling to find their voice.
I am able to tutor middle school to college students, either online or in-person in Los Angeles.
