About Namneet

I’m Namneet Kaur. I’m a certified British Council examiner and trainer. I’ve been an examiner for a year at the British Council Australia. I received my diploma in Cambridge CELTA and DELTA from the British Council and TEFL from Asian College of Teachers. Being a non-native speaker and living in a native English-speaking country I believe I can closely relate to the difficulties that learners face in obtaining fluency in the language. I believe I can help students feel comfortable and confident within themselves as they hold themselves with English. I help with personality development, problem-solving and decision-making skills as well which plays a significant role in the learning journey.

IELTS (GENERAL AND ACADEMIC) one-on-one sessions KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES IELTS Speaking Module: For the Speaking module, my course prepares you to express yourself fluently and confidently in spoken English. I cover all three parts of the Speaking test: Part 1 (Introduction and Interview), Part 2 (Long Turn), and Part 3 (Discussion). You'll learn how to answer questions accurately, provide detailed responses, and extend your answers with relevant examples and explanations. I provide strategies for organizing your thoughts, managing time effectively, and maintaining fluency and coherence. Through practice sessions and role-plays, you'll develop your pronunciation, intonation, and overall speaking skills. IELTS Listening Module: In the Listening module, I focus on enhancing your listening comprehension skills. My course covers various listening materials, including conversations, monologues, lectures, and discussions on academic and everyday topics. I provide strategies for listening for gist, specific information, and detail. You'll learn how to identify main ideas, supporting details, speaker attitudes, and organizational patterns. Through practice exercises and simulated tests, you'll develop the ability to answer different question types, such as multiple-choice, matching, and completion tasks. IELTS Reading Module: For the Reading module, this course helps you improve your reading comprehension skills across different text types and topics. I tend to cover academic passages on subjects such as science, history, social science, and the arts, as well as general interest articles from newspapers, magazines, and online sources. You'll learn how to skim and scan texts for main ideas, keywords, and specific information. We provide strategies for understanding vocabulary in context, identifying writer's opinions and attitudes, and making inferences. You'll practice answering various question types, including multiple-choice, true/false/not given, and matching headings. IELTS Writing Module: In the Writing module, I mainly focus on developing your academic writing skills to produce well-structured and coherent essays to cover both Task 1 (Graphs, Charts, and Diagrams) and Task 2 (Essay Writing). You'll learn how to analyze visual data, interpret trends, and present key information effectively in Task 1. For Task 2, you'll learn how to generate ideas, develop arguments, and support your opinions with relevant examples and evidence. I provide guidance on essay structure, paragraph organization, vocabulary, grammar, and coherence. You'll practice writing essays on various topics and receive feedback to improve your writing skills. Integrated Skills: Throughout the course, I emphasize integrated skills development, where you'll learn how to integrate listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills to perform well on integrated tasks. You'll practice synthesizing information from multiple sources, analyzing arguments, and presenting cohesive responses. My course prepares you to approach integrated tasks with confidence and proficiency, ensuring that you're well-equipped to tackle the integrated nature of the IELTS exam. By covering each module of the IELTS exam comprehensively and providing targeted instruction, practice, and feedback, this course equips you with the skills and confidence needed to excel on test day.
