About Logan

A lifelong love for music drives my passion for teaching guitar. Holding Master's degrees in Music, I combine formal training, performance experience, and teaching expertise to guide students on their musical journey. Lessons begin with foundational skills such as posture, finger placement, chord transitions, strumming, rhythm, and tone, progressing to improvisation, phrasing, and composition. Music theory is introduced through practical, song-based examples that students can relate to. Each session is customised to the student's pace, goals, and style, fostering confidence and creativity. I emphasise technical mastery alongside expressive playing, helping students communicate emotion and artistry through music.

Ear training, sight-reading, and performance exercises build well-rounded musicianship. Students explore genres like classical, jazz, rock, blues, and pop to broaden their musical understanding. Structured practice routines, feedback, and guidance help learners overcome challenges effectively. I celebrate milestones to motivate students and acknowledge achievements. I encourage creativity, experimentation, and improvisation to help students develop a personal musical voice. Lessons balance structure, discipline, and fun, ensuring steady progress and engagement. Over time, students gain both technical proficiency and artistic confidence. Teaching guitar is more than instruction—it is mentorship, guidance, and inspiration. My ultimate goal is to help students play with authenticity, emotion, and creativity. Each lesson is an opportunity to cultivate skill, passion, and lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

Guitar became my voice long before I became a teacher, and that same passion drives how I teach today. With a Master's in Music, I've dedicated my life to understanding the instrument inside and out. My experience spans live performance, studio recording, and 13 years of one-on-one instruction. In my teaching, I emphasise both precision and freedom—because technique means little without emotion. I focus on developing good habits early, from posture and finger positioning to rhythm control and timing. My lessons help students develop strong musical intuition and confidence. I also believe that learning should be enjoyable, so I use familiar songs and creative challenges to make each session exciting.

I encourage improvisation, ear training, and self-expression through composition. My approach is patient, detailed, and deeply personal. I'm not just teaching chords or scales—I'm teaching students to communicate through sound. Seeing learners grow from hesitant strumming to confident playing is the most rewarding part of my work.
