About Heaven

I’ve been tutoring for over 7 years, starting in Grade 8 when I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed helping other students understand subjects they found difficult. Since then, I’ve tutored students in math, biology, chemistry, physics, English, and Hebrew.

I’m currently completing a Bachelor of Science with a focus on physical sciences, including physics and chemistry, along with studies in biological sciences. My academic background gives me a strong foundation for helping students with math and science, while my personal language experience allows me to offer Hebrew and Tigrinya as well.

I grew up and studied in Israel, where I learned Hebrew while my first language was different. That experience taught me patience and gave me a better understanding of what it feels like to learn something unfamiliar, make mistakes, and gradually become confident.

As a person, I’m friendly, patient, active, and curious. Outside of studying and tutoring, I enjoy running, spending time outdoors, drawing and sketching, spending quality time with my family, and meeting new people.

Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable with me. You don’t need to know everything before coming to a lesson—that’s what learning is for. Bring your questions, your goals, and even the topics you find frustrating, and we’ll work through them together.

About the lesson

My approach is patient, flexible, and focused on helping each student truly understand what they are learning rather than just memorize answers. I like to first find out what the student already knows, where they are struggling, and what their goal is. From there, I adjust the lesson to their level and learning style.

A typical lesson usually starts with a quick review, followed by a clear explanation of the topic. Then we work through examples together before the student tries problems or exercises independently. I like to ask questions along the way so I can make sure the student understands each step.

For math and science, I focus on breaking difficult concepts into smaller, easier steps and showing how to approach problems logically. I can help with math, biology, chemistry, and physics at elementary, junior high, and high school levels.

For Hebrew and Tigrinya, lessons can focus on conversation, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, grammar, or everyday communication depending on the student’s goals. I also understand what it feels like to learn a language from a learner’s perspective, so I encourage students to practice without being afraid of making mistakes.

What sets me apart is my 7+ years of tutoring experience across both academic subjects and languages. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again.

My lessons are suitable for beginners, school students, and anyone who wants extra support, more practice, or greater confidence in the subject they are learning.
