  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

I've been singing professionally since I was 3 or 4 years old. I developed my love for music while performing on stage, noticing how it brought people joy. My favorite instrument is my voice, which has so much potential for new and unique sounds!
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I love alternative music, bands like Panic! At The Disco, The 1975, Fallout Boy, and Fish in a Birdcage, really speak to me though to be honest there's so much music out there I'd have a hard time listening to just one artist!
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

I don't believe music should be difficult to be enjoyed or seen as riveting. When we struggle with music or self expression it's often because we aren't listening to our own needs. I specialize in 1 on 1 coaching for a reason: to help a fellow artist learn more about themselves and how they can improve their craft.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

The most complicated instrument is probably your own body since it changes overtime. I'm constantly relearning my body and how to articulate myself effectively without harm.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

My keys to success is practicing your craft consistently and having patience with yourself. Life is about learning, growth, and change. If you approach to desire to learn with compassion you will achieve what you aim for.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

Oh I'd love to meet Jack Black from tenacious D!!! Jack Black has been one of my favorite performers since I can remember, I would love to learn from him and just have a conversation. Another artist I would love to meet would probably be Brenden Urie from panic! at the disco, he's exceptionally talented and is a gifted songwriter! The last artist I would probably want to meet is Chapel Roan, I would love to interview her for my podcast The Trauma Dump Podcast and talk about how she overcame so much adversity!
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

My favorite class at Texas Tech University was probably songwriting. I loved hearing all of my classmates express themselves with their music. Being a neurodivergent person, music is one of the best ways that I know how to express myself and so I felt truly connected to my classmates when I experienced their songs.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I regularly message my students to make sure that they are keeping up with their homework and still practicing their craft. I also care very deeply for anyone who takes a lesson with me and will answer any questions that they have even if we're not in a lesson. One of my greatest joys is seeing them finally grasp what I've been trying to teach and get excited about learning.
