About Gina
Hi! I'm Gina, I’m a 19-year-old second-year Forensic Science student at Liverpool John Moores University. Science has always been my favourite subject, especially Biology. I love helping younger students learn and build confidence in their education.
I have two younger siblings who I’ve grown up looking after, so I’m patient, friendly and enjoy working with children. I also work as a domestic assistant in a hospital over the summer, which helps me develop strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills. Outside of university, I love dogs, art, music and long walks around the Albert Docks.
I decided to tutor because I struggled with GCSEs myself until I discovered effective study techniques such as active recall and flashcards. These completely changed how I revised and helped me achieve A* and A grades. I’d love to help other students find techniques that work for them too!

My lessons are tailored to each student and focus on understanding the content rather than simply memorising it.
I use a combination of active recall, flashcards, practice questions and past papers to help students remember information and become more confident with exam-style questions.
We’ll identify areas the student finds difficult, break topics down into smaller sections then use active recall techniques to check their understanding of the lesson. I can also help students make effective flashcards and show them how to use them properly for revision.
As exam season starts, we can focus more on past papers and exam questions. We will work through the answers together and identifying how to pick up marks and avoid common mistakes.
My goal is to make lessons friendly and be as approachable as possible whether they need help understanding difficult topics, preparing for exams or simply building their confidence in GCSE Biology/Chemistry.
