About Jayne
With 9 years of experience as a violin tutor, I have taught students from school, college, and professional backgrounds. I believe every student is unique, and my teaching philosophy focuses on adapting lessons to each individual’s strengths, challenges, and goals.
I emphasise technical mastery, music reading, sight-reading, and expressive performance while preparing students for recitals, competitions, and concerts. Over 200 students have benefited from my guidance, achieving success and confidence on stage. My lessons are designed to balance structure with creativity, keeping students motivated and ensuring steady progress.

I follow a teaching methodology centred on compassion, patience, and effective communication. I believe that learning the violin should be an inspiring, confidence-building experience. I create lessons that adapt to each student’s pace, interests, and learning style, ensuring that learning is both engaging and productive.
I provide structured guidance, demonstrations, and interactive exercises, breaking down technical skills and music concepts into manageable steps. Students are encouraged to ask questions, participate actively, and explore creatively, which strengthens both technical proficiency and musical expression.
Being supportive is key. I celebrate progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide students through challenges with patience and encouragement. Lessons balance technical skills, creativity, and personal growth, helping students develop confidence, independence, and a love for music.
In addition to violin, I teach other subjects using the same student-centred methodology, inspiring curiosity, motivation, and lifelong learning.
