About Bill
Hi, I'm Bill! I'm a math/IT tutor with years of experience helping students "click" with complex mathematical concepts & rapidly building confidence within the student to become their own tutors. I use a cognitive approach to help students see the material we study differently. We adjust the lens through which we look at the material to help students arrive at the expected answer by taking what they already know and building upon it. We all have different ways of thinking. I harness a student's strengths to figure out and wrap their heads around the material.

I love sparking curiosity and approaching lessons with practical examples. Depending on the student, a typical lesson will first go over the "why" of certain mathematical methods. A very practical example may be, "While driving a vehicle, do you want to maximize friction or minimize it, and why?" We would build off this question and apply it to methods within physics and mathematics to arrive at the answer!
I truly enjoy the "ah-ha!" moment when a concept "clicks" with a student. I create memorable experiences that connect real life with abstract ideas within mathematics and computer science.
I am most successful with students who require help with algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, physics, and information technology (in java & python)
