About Beccalynn
Best for learners who need either assignment support or conceptual rebuilding — we’ll decide together.I
help learners build confidence and understanding in foundational math, with a focus on number sense, fractions, ratios, and real-world mathematical thinking. My teaching style is visual, relational, and neurodivergent-friendly, and works especially well for learners with ADHD, dyscalculia, autism, anxiety, or gaps in early math foundations.
With over 35 years of experience in education—including classroom teaching, 16 years of homeschooling, and online tutoring since 2020—I bring both professional skill and lived understanding to my work. As someone with dyscalculia myself, I know how overwhelming math can feel. I teach in ways that support clarity, reduce pressure, and help math make sense to the brain.
Specialty: Foundational Math (elementary through fractions, ratios, and proportional reasoning)
Scope Note: I focus on foundational and applied math and do not teach Algebra I, Geometry, or advanced math.

Looking for a visual, patient math tutor who understands how your child learns best? I support elementary learners in building confidence, closing learning gaps, and understanding math in ways that finally make sense.
I work especially well with:
Learners with ADHD, autism, or dyscalculia
Children who experience math anxiety or frustration
Homeschoolers and students (roughly grades 1–6) who need strong foundational skills
With over 35 years in education—including classroom teaching, homeschooling, and online tutoring—I bring both professional skill and lived understanding to my work. I have dyscalculia myself, so I teach using visuals, real-world examples, and gentle repetition to reduce pressure and support clarity.
Topics I Cover:
Foundational math, including number sense, operations, fractions, ratios, patterns, and word problems.
Scope Note:
I focus on foundational and applied math. I do not teach Algebra I, Geometry, or test preparation.

- Alontese is wonderful to work with. She is accommodating and invested in her daughter's education. I am so grateful to be working with them.Beccalynn's response :
Perfect! During our first meeting, Beccalynn took the time to get to know my daughter as an individual, understanding her strengths, weaknesses, and preferred learning style. This personalized approach was truly refreshing, and it was evident that Beccalynn is dedicated to tailoring lessons to suit my daughter with specific needs. My first impression of Beccalynn was incredibly positive. I have no doubt that this is the beginning of a productive and enriching learning experience.
- It was wonderful to meet with Fernanda and her daughter. Both are vibrant and motivated. It will be fun to work with them to support their educational goals.Beccalynn's response :
Excellent! Beccalynn is a creative tutor. She has a different perspective of math bringing in visual cues than just numbers. I do think she is a good tutor to work with.
- I am so excited to work with Zee in building fundamental math skills and strategies. He is a hardworking and motivated student. Thank you for choosing me!Beccalynn's response :
Perfect! Really enjoyed our initial session with Beccalynn! She instantly clicked with my 10 year old son and was very down to earth and kind. My son is on the Autism Spectrum, so he thinks about things in a very different way and struggles with compression of what's being asked. This was not a problem for Beccalynn at all, she really made him feel understood and was able to quickly guide him in the right direction. We're looking forward to working with her!
- It was wonderful to meet you and Levi today. It was so fun to think through the challenges learning Math and English can create. I loved listening to how Levi processed information and what he loves learning about. I am so excited to work with you!Beccalynn's response :

I have had the pleasure of working with Beccalynn for over two years now. She is an extremely talented patient teacher who works incredibly hard to provide the highest quality on-line lessons for everyone of her pupils. Fun and laughter are at the very heart of her lessons. This is the key to effective learning . I would highly recommend her as a teacher.
Michaela Gordon BA(Hons) PGCE NPQHRebecca is an excellent and trustworthy teacher because she has a genuine love for and dedication to her students and their education. I’ve taught philosophy for over twenty years. If I had a child who needed the kind of teaching and tutoring she offers, I would not hesitate to hire her.
Beccalynn is one of the most caring and compassionate people I know. Having known her for decades, I have seen her deep love of learning and education grow and she loves to spread that to others. She will find out the best was to fit a subject to the student's learning style so that they can and will enjoy learning.
Rebecca and I have worked on several dance theater productions including our annual Nutcracker with a cast of over 200 children and teens. Rebecca is a talented props maker and theater hand, but when you are working with children & teens in theater it takes a little something extra beyond being creative, crafty, and quick on your feet. It means pep talks in the wings, teachable moments with curious kids interested in a different aspect of the production they are working on, tutoring when kids have homework to complete during the run of a show, remembering that everyone needs snacks and hydration to be at their best, passing your skills on to other people that need to understudy what you are doing in case you are unavailable for the next showing or production, and generally being a team player that is up for almost anything. She has all of these skills and more. Her background in child development and education make her poised to do this well and she’s really great at working with and teaching kids especially.
