About Helena
I am an English student of Cambridge University and have received many rewards and scholarships for my competence in the subject from the age of 11. I tutored GCSE students voluntarily whilst at Sixth form and enjoyed watching their competence and confidence grow and essay grades consistently rise. I am now looking to further my experience as a tutor and will enjoy working with individuals to improve written work and achieve higher grades.

As I am an English student myself who has only recently completed the qualifications I wish to tutor in, I am familiar and confident with the course content and style of teaching which will be most beneficial to students of GCSE and A-level. I will write and mark practise paragraphs and essays with students, demonstrate the best ways to approach unseen texts and help find interesting and creative points of focus within set texts which students can practice and regurgitate in exams. As it is a creative subject, all students learn differently and so I adapt my tutoring style to best suit the individual student's preferred way of learning.
