About Corey
I am a Louisiana native living and working in Denver, Colorado. I hold a degree in French and am a lifetime lover of languages and communication. I have tutored since 2015 in both French & English and have 1 year of traditional teaching experience in a 7th Grade English classroom.

I am certified to teach secondary students (7th-12th grade) and am most effective with this age group. I engage in a mostly classical approach to academic English instruction while adapting to the needs and considerations for modern students. I care about underlying understanding and practical application for my students; I understand that the language skills they need are different in the real world compared to the classroom and guide my instruction accordingly. Finding connections to my students is an important part of my teaching style. I am an amateur chef and rock climber and love to share my experiences and passions with others. Using these and my students' interests, I approach language learning with an emphasis on real world application.
