About Steven
I have been teaching under the NYCDOE for a full school year. I have had over 150 students over this time span. I have also tutored under the Connecticut Writing Project, in which I tutored over 30 Refugee students from countries all over the world.
In terms of results, I have seen 80% of my students last year achieve a four or higher on their NYS ELA exam. My students I tutored under the Connecticut Writing Project improved greatly in areas of writing and comprehending texts.

Certified Middle School Teacher under New York City Department of Education. I am a full time 7th grade teacher with a Masters Degree from Fairfield University in Secondary Education. I have received Mastery on my EdTPA. I plan to give lessons to middle and high school students in the content area of English. I am able to help students out in areas ranging from Test Prep (ACT's, SAT's) to creative writing submissions.
I introduce a writing technique that allows students to achieve greatly on essays on State Exams, creative writing assignments as well as other assignments they receive from school.I also teach students how to thoroughly break down multiple choice questions that often appear on the SAT exam and other state exams that NYS administers. I believe in student-centered learning. It is important for a student to express his/her opinions on the content they are learning, instead of just a traditional chalk talk environment.
