About Ailsa
Originally from Oxford, I have lived in London for 11 years with an 18-month gap teaching in Spain. I trained as a dancer when I was 16 but decided to go in a different direction and travelled to Spain to complete my CertTesol. I have worked in a variety of fields including hospitality and the homelessness sector as well as teaching privately. I love connecting with people from all around the world, sharing cultures, and teaching allows me to support others and work alongside them to get to where they want to.

I offer online and face to face classes for anyone wishing to learn for fun, to communicate more easily or improve job prospects. I am a patient and compassionate teacher and work with my students on what they want to focus on. I am also a language student so I understand how frustrating it can be, and how important it is to create a safe space to practice. I work at an English Language school in Central London where I follow a set curriculum, but I always adapt my lessons to best suit my students. I supply lesson materials from a range of sources as well as my own.

Sou uma professora paciente e compassiva e trabalho com meus alunos naquilo em que eles desejam se concentrar. Eu também sou estudante de idiomas, então entendo como isso pode ser frustrante e como é importante criar um espaço seguro para praticar. Miss Ailsa is a great teacher. I came into the class struggling with my punctuation and grammar. Ailsa is a patient and kind teacher. She has a good way of teaching, breaking everything down. I have had a few teachers but Ailsa has been the one who has helped my English the most.
