M.Ed. Reading Specialist Helping Elementary and Middle School Students Become Stronger, More Confident Readers

I’m an M.Ed. Reading Specialist and certified Elementary, Middle ELA, and Special Education teacher. I provide personalized online reading instruction for elementary and middle school students at all ability levels.

I can help your child with:

• Phonics, decoding, and word recognition

• Making inferences and using text evidence

I have experience supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences. My lessons are structured, encouraging, and adapted to each student’s strengths, needs, interests, and learning pace.

During our first session, I’ll learn about your child’s current skills, challenges, and goals. From there, I’ll create focused lessons that provide clear instruction, guided practice, and opportunities for your child to apply new skills independently.

Whether your child needs targeted reading intervention, help understanding grade-level texts, support with schoolwork, or additional enrichment, I’ll meet them where they are and help them make steady progress.

About the lesson

My reading lessons are personalized for elementary and middle school students who need intervention, grade-level support, or enrichment.

Depending on your child’s needs, lessons may focus on:

• Phonics, decoding, and word recognition
• Reading fluency, accuracy, and expression
• Vocabulary and language development
• Reading comprehension and critical thinking
• Main idea, inference, summarizing, and text evidence
• Written responses and organization
• Study strategies and support with school assignments
• Reading confidence and independent learning habits

Each lesson includes clear instruction, guided practice, and opportunities for the student to apply the skill independently. I break challenging concepts into manageable steps, provide multiple explanations when needed, and include regular review so learning becomes secure.

I have experience supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences. Materials, pacing, and teaching methods are adjusted to match each student’s age, interests, strengths, and learning needs.

My lessons are structured and purposeful while remaining encouraging and engaging. Students receive age-respectful materials that help them experience success without making the work feel too young.
