About Kailee
I am a certified K-6 teacher and I am currently in my 15th year in the classroom. My teaching approach is enthusiastic, inclusive, low pressure, and can be a mix of lecture and conversation. I am a fantasy author, writer, and I love to see students be creative. My hope in fantasy-fiction writing mentorship and tutoring is to help students become confident writers and be inspired to share their work and find community.

My sessions begin with slideshow content to spark creativity and prep students for the exercises to strengthen their creative muscles. Then, we converse about their personal work whether it be a story, story map or written draft. As tutor, I serve as a sounding board for all my student's ideas, and ask thoughtful questions to help direct them to their next steps. Then, there is around 15-20 minutes of quiet/active writing time where they are welcome to ask questions if they get stuck on a section.
An alternate class format is a teacher-led session where I present activities that will strengthen their creative muscles and we participate together in completing these activities.
Each student will always leave inspired, equipped with more story content and tools to write their stories with confidence.
