About Gilad
Hello, I'm Gilad!
I'm a TEFL-certified ESL teacher who has been teaching online ESL classes for over 2 years. I have an Honours BA degree in English, Film, and Philosophy from the University of Toronto. It was during my studies that I discovered my passion for education. I began offering private tutoring lessons for high school and university students in essay and writing skills following graduation, which then led me to online ESL tutoring.
In my career as an ESL tutor, I have worked with close to 100 students of all experience levels and from all parts of the world. I prioritize making my classes tailored to each student's specific needs and learning styles. I don't just follow formulas when it comes to teaching and I try to keep things engaging by incorporating a variety of exercises and activities in my lessons. My classes have helped students advance their skills in a remarkably short period of time.

My classes are designed to help my students master all facets of their English speaking and writing skills, from pronunciation to grammar to vocab to overall accuracy and fluency. My goal is to help you get to a native level as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I believe the most effective way of learning a new language is through consistent practice and application. My lessons tend to involve a lot of interactive activities, which are then followed up by notes and drilling activities. This will help you become more confident as an English speaker and build great habits to help you overcome difficulties more efficiently.
Such activities could include pronunciation challenges such as minimal pair exercises, fill-in-the-blank assignments for grammar practice, and casual conversation exercises to practice speaking more fluently.
In terms of my teaching style, I am a dedicated, patient, hardworking teacher who always goes the extra mile to help my students succeed. My priority is for my classes to be fun, engaging, informative, and also personalized to each student’s unique needs.
My classes are geared toward adult ESL students with intermediate English skills, but I'm also comfortable teaching high school students or pre-intermediate speakers, as well!
