About Rae
With 9+ years of experience as a violin tutor, I have successfully guided around 300 students, including high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them build strong musical skills and confidence. My teaching approach is simple, structured, and flexible, allowing students to learn at their own pace.
I focus on important techniques such as posture, bowing, rhythm, intonation, and tone production to ensure a solid foundation. I break down each lesson into easy steps so students can learn without confusion.
I also guide students on effective practice methods that support steady improvement. One of my proud achievements is helping students perform confidently and enjoy playing music. My aim is to make learning violin both enjoyable and effective.

My violin teaching methodology focuses on communication, adaptability, and connecting lessons to practical musical experiences. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, abilities, and goals to ensure they develop both technical and expressive skills.
I teach posture, bowing technique, fingering, tone, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression while encouraging creativity and personal interpretation. Lessons include real-life examples such as performing favourite pieces, practising for recitals, and exploring music’s emotional storytelling.
I also include related subjects like music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to provide a comprehensive musical education. My goal is to create an engaging, structured, and motivating environment where students progress steadily and enjoy learning.
