About Shammah

I am a Chef and a writer. One of the founders of the Amor Restaurant and a graduate of Computer Science

About the lesson

I am quite multitalented so I can draw my lessons from various fields. I have discovered that everything is connected so once there is knowledge of something, even something as regular as knowing oneself, that is a window for new knowledge to come in.

My lessons are very practical. The student(s) will encounter practicals at every lesson with them. I believe in muscle memory and that it is easier to learn when the learner's body is part of the process. Lessons go from theory, to visual to practical. Food is a visual thing after all.

For me, Food is a living thing that breathes and can be negotiated with. It is deep. It goes beyond recipes down to the characteristics of the plant itself. We would study the nature of the component chemicals of food, understand recipes chemically as well as dig into the psyche of the people that created these meals. That way, the student can come up with their own recipes as they understand food at a cultural level.

I am a very animated person and gesturing comes easy to me as well talking. I am not shy at all. Humor is easy for me and I am very friendly and easygoing.
