About Heather
- What kind of experience do you have? I have been teaching for 8 years in secondary schools in the U.K. and abroad. The first school I taught in was a struggling school with children with a range of abilities. Then I moved to Singapore and taught in an international school with a wide range of students from those that needed learning support to those that had won prestigious scholarships to attend the school. In Singapore I taught the IGCSE and the IB. I have been successfully tutoring and homeschooling students for 9 years. I am also an Eponaquest instructor which means that I use exercises with horses to help students increase their self confidence, self awareness and communication with others. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes - An enhanced disclosure - Tell me about some of your current students. I have a variety of students at the moment. Some are aged 12-13 and are needing help in understanding Science at school. Then I have a number of students studying for their GCSEs and IGCSEs in Science. Finally I have students studying Chemistry A-Level (OCR A and B, AQA and Edexcel), Biology A-Level (Edexcel, AQA and OCR) and IB Chemistry. Abilities range from those who have been struggling to those who wish to achieve A grades at A-Level for university courses.

Having taught for 8 years in schools, I have now become a full-time Tutor. My passion is helping others understand and appreciate the wonders of science. I have assisted numerous students in realising their potential and achieving top grades - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to IGCSE/GCSE level. Chemistry and Biology to A2 and IB level. - Tell me about your qualifications. I have a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Qualified Teacher Status. - How much do you charge? £50 per hour for A-Level and IB £50 per hour for GCSE It is possible to share lessons with other students studying the same level - contact me for more details. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I can teach 12 - 18 years and up to A-Level/IB Level - Do you have a personal message for students? Even the most confusing Science can be made accessible if approached from a different way. The key is to unlock your learning style so that you can understand the way in which you can learn best!

Heather tutored me biology for year 13 to help me prepare for my A levels. Heather was a great teacher, who was lovely to be taught by. With her help, I was able to get my needed grade in biology and get into my first choice university.
Heather is an absolutely lovely woman who helped my grades go from a D to an A in only a few months. Very helpful and she always managed to provide questions that I could never find anywhere else.
