About Ellen
I have over 35 years of teaching/tutoring experience. I am currently teaching at Concordia University. I have experience teaching High School chemistry (general, AP and IB) as well as University teaching experience in General Chemistry, General, Organic and Biochemistry (GOB), and Biochemistry. I really enjoy teaching young people chemistry and love the big smiles when the "light bulb of understanding" is lit.

My lessons are tailored to individual students and their learning style. I expect students to be engaged and doing their part to have a successful learning experience. I do not lecture or do all of the talking. I like to pose problems to students that allow them to use critical thinking skills.
A lesson begins with homework problems or questions that allow a progression during the lesson to points that I want to make. I am an excellent teacher and have won an award for teaching excellence.
My teaching experience has been high school (general, AP, and IB) and undergraduate university, mostly General Chemistry and Biochemistry.
