About Hugo
My passion for chemistry emerged during my Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, where I was fascinated by how substances interact and transform. Over 6 years of teaching, I have guided students from basic concepts to advanced topics, focusing on understanding rather than rote memorization. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into manageable, relatable lessons that build confidence and comprehension for learners at all levels.
I emphasize patient, clear, and personalized teaching. Each student receives lessons tailored to their pace, with visual demonstrations, real-life examples, and interactive problem-solving exercises. I believe students learn best when encouraged to explore, ask questions, and understand the “why” behind each concept. This approach fosters curiosity, independent thinking, and long-term retention of knowledge.
Outside the classroom, I engage in practical chemistry projects, research reading, and exploring scientific innovations. Bringing these insights into lessons makes learning more relevant and stimulating. Teaching chemistry is immensely rewarding because I witness students transform from hesitant learners into confident problem-solvers with a strong appreciation for science. I create a warm, encouraging environment where students feel confident experimenting with problem-solving exercises and thinking critically about chemical principles.
For intermediate students, lessons cover molecular structures, chemical kinetics, equilibrium concepts, and lab simulations. I incorporate exercises that emphasize reasoning, calculation accuracy, and practical interpretation of data. Advanced learners explore complex reaction mechanisms, organic synthesis pathways, and analytical techniques, reinforcing conceptual understanding with problem-based learning. My goal is to ensure each student can confidently apply concepts, both in academic tasks and real-world situations.
