About Shantel
Hello! You can call me Shan.
I am a Civil Engineering Technologist, but trust me, that doesn't mean that I can fix everything, or know how everything works! What I have learnt during my academic years, and throughout my career, is that Math is all about understanding the factors that make up a problem, and then finding solutions that make the most sense! And that's something we all do throughout life.
Math is everywhere, in everything we do, and everyone can be good at Math! I am here to help you discover you math strengths, and if you like, we can work on the areas that need improvements!

My approach is simple:
I'll first get to know my students "comfort level" of mathematics, and also talk about the areas where improvement is needed.
We would make reasonable and achievable goals, and solidify basic universal concepts that can be applied to any math problem. Lastly, we'll tackle some mathematical challenges/problems together, until the student is confident to tackle problems on their own!
Math can be fun once you understand the a factors you're working with - believe me, Math is an adventure!
