About Isaac
Hello! I am Isaac, a classically trained fine artist with several years of experience in making artwork both at home and abroad. I believe that art is a skill which can be developed, and I would love to help you develop that skill! I can offer instruction in a broad selection of artistic skills, but in particular, I have studied portraiture and figure work in various mediums, still life painting and drawing, and watercolor landscapes.

With several years of classical training in the fine arts both at home and abroad, I fully believe that anyone can develop their skills in the arts through practice and work! The ability to draw is the backbone of all other fine art skills, including painting and sculpture, so in our first lesson or so I will assess your understanding of the basic principles and skills of draftsmanship (the ability to draw) before moving forward. After this, we will move on to more specialized training in the areas. Some lessons I offer will be the following:
Drawing in Graphite and Charcoal:
-My lesson plan for drawing includes developing skills such as proper line weight and quality, accurate contour lines, understanding of space and shape, compositional construction, light and dark, etc. I am also equipped to offer instruction in figure drawing and portraiture.
Oil Painting:
-My lesson plan for oil painting expands on your skills from drawing. I will teach you how to understand light and dark, the harshness and softness of edges, color, value, and composition. I am also equipped to offer instruction in portraiture, still life, plein air painting, and landscape.
Watercolor:
-My lesson plan in watercolor covers the basics of watercolor techniques and methods, and will further develop your skills through exercises and practice.
Sculpture:
-My lesson plan for sculpture focuses on the human body, primarily in figure and portrait. For this reason, it will also expand on your skills in draftsmanship, and you will develop a proper understanding of anatomy and physiology. I will teach you how to handle and apply clay, how to build an armature, and how to construct complete head and figure sculptures.
My lessons are for all levels, but I would teach you in an advanced way. I believe that even beginners can develop the same skills as advanced artists. Ultimately, art is a skill, and becoming proficient in that skill is a matter of hard work and practice!
