About Hamza
I think of myself as a coach, rather than a personal trainer or exercise physiologist - because performance goals without personal investment in the process and outcome are far harder to attain. Trainers write general programs, and exercise scientists attain performance results in a clinical lab setting. But how often do either of those approaches account for the chaos of varied lifestyles or mental and emotional strain that accompanies fitness journeys?
We often conflate fitness with health. But you can be ridiculously fit and extremely unhealthy. I've been there - a national champion with an eating disorder. My coaching philosophy is informed by a decade of competing as an elite athlete, experimenting in professional kitchens, and my struggles with mental illness and injury rehabilitation.
Every suggestion I make is data-driven, evidence-informed, and grounded in established research.
Performance can be a scary word because we associate it with throwing massive weights around or competing at the highest level. But performance is relative - it’s simply how you’re measuring up to your personal potential and goals. Whether that’s being able to dance with more coordination, recover from nagging knee pain, or even carry all your groceries from the car to the house in one trip. The goal isn't just to make you lift heavier, run faster, or look better (wtf does that even mean?). It's to help rebuild relationships with our bodies and how they navigate concepts of fitness and health. Gyms can be intimidating and most coaches/trainers aren’t doing much to make them more approachable (hell, I’ve been a professional athlete and still get nervous walking into one). So you won’t see me flexing shirtless in my videos. There won’t be highlights of “success stories” with your before and after photos. And I’m sure AF not gonna slap you on the back and scream at you to crank out one more rep.
What you *will* get: absolute honesty, empathy, accountability, and investment. We’ll collaborate to assess your goals, build a plan that accounts for your lifestyle, and work towards it with weekly and monthly markers of progress. If that sounds like something you're interested in, feel free to reach out and we can set up a free intro call to talk some more.

Fitness is a personal journey. I hate when trainers or coaches act like gurus who have all the answers and work from a position of authority. As a coach, I believe in a collaborative effort where we design a sustainable program together, which combines what you enjoy with what you need in order to create a program and approach that is flexible and you can commit to.
I don't believe in restrictive dieting or punishing workout routines. Using my certification as a psychologist, my career as a professional athlete and exercise physiologist, and experiences as a michelin-trained chef, I provide a holistic and dynamic program. We slowly address your problem areas one step at a time, compounding habits and making sure it's at a pace where you're not burning yourself out.
I've worked with an entire spectrum of clients from Olympic level athletes to recreational beer-leaguers. From post-natal mothers looking to recover their physical strength to people working through chronic pain/lingering injuries.
Depending on your needs, the sessions are structured into hour-long blocks (sometimes we go over, that's fine too) and typically entail a full body split where we have a dynamic warmup, resistance training, mobility work, and then I'll prescribe some homework, either light cardio or more stretching based on your needs.
The nutritional consultancy is a bit more flexible, where we meet up and plan out strategies to incorporate more protein or healthier components into your meals, and can even go out shopping together to set your pantry and fridge up for success.
