About Teena

"Is it possible for a 7-year-old to learn coding?"

This is a question so many parents ask me. And my answer? Does your child show an interest in coding? If yes, don’t think twice—just let them explore it!

Who am I?
I’m a Microsoft Scholar '20 and GHCI '20 Scholar, with a major in Computer Science & Engineering and a minor in Artificial Intelligence. With 6 years of experience teaching programming, I teach out of passion, alongside my full-time job in IT. I’ve been mentoring young coders on Superprof, helping them take their first steps into the world of coding.

About the lesson

No Overload, No Stress!
I know kids already have schoolwork and other activities, so I keep the number of classes to a maximum of 2 per week. This way, they learn without feeling overwhelmed, making the experience enjoyable rather than exhausting.

What can I teach?
I specialize in computer programming languages, including Python, C, HTML, CSS, and more. I also offer an Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for beginners.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I have done my engineering in Computer Science. From childhood itself I loved problem-solving, so I thought of directing my career towards programming, which is a hard-core problem solving domain.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My biggest motivation is my mom. she is a dedicated teacher working for the Kerala government. So I would say, teaching is in my genes.
How does your work help society?
My teaching career is impacting students globally. I have international students from USA, UK, Nepal, Australia and India. All are young buds and I teach them coding from a very young age.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
As I said before, my mom is my inspiration. She is my first teacher. Apart from that I would say, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam :). He is the one who gave fire to my wings.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I like listening to music. I like to cook pizza as well.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
It's about some of my achievements which I think are 'GREAT'. When I was in third year of engineering, I got 2 awards (scholarships). The first one is Microsoft Azure Scholarship and the second one is GHCI 2020 scholarship. Me and my colleagues had a cut throat competition for the same. I am always proud of myself regarding these milestones.
