I completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of North Dakota, where I supported robotics clubs, youth coding workshops, and computer science outreach events. My programming lessons begin with clean, simple logic—understanding how computers follow instructions, how steps work together, and how code creates action. Once this foundation feels comfortable, I introduce languages like Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java, and MATLAB through small examples, clear explanations, and hands-on practice. My teaching style keeps the child calm and curious rather than overwhelmed.
For students who enjoy creativity, I include video game programming, where they create characters, design movement, control interactions, and build simple playable levels. Whenever errors happen, I pause with the student, explain the issue gently, and help them fix it step-by-step. By the end, coding feels like a creative tool instead of something confusing or scary.
