About Selene
I completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Nevada Reno, where I helped lead introductory coding workshops for middle- and high-school students. With five years of online tutoring experience, I’ve developed a teaching style based on warm encouragement and clear, structured explanation. Students often tell me that coding “finally feels understandable and less scary” with me.

I teach programming by helping students slow down and understand the logic behind every instruction. We begin with the fundamentals of computational thinking—how the computer reads steps, how patterns form, how decisions are coded.
Once they’re comfortable, we move into Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java, and beginner AI, always building step by step. My lessons are relaxed but focused, allowing students to experiment, test ideas, and learn from mistakes without pressure.
By strengthening their reasoning early, I help them grow ready for future college computing, where logic and analytical thinking become essential. Coding becomes something they can do, not something to fear.
