My tutoring approach is student centered and concept focused. I start by identifying what the student already understands and where the gaps are, then tailor each session to their learning style. Rather than memorization, I emphasize working towards undertanding concepts, so students can apply them confidently on exams. A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in and review of upcoming assignments or exams. For the majority of the session, I work through practice problems with the student, identifying areas of difficulty and breaking down the underlying concepts step by step. I end each session with a wrap-up of the key concepts covered in the session. What sets me apart as a tutor is my 2+ years of college-level tutoring experience and a strong STEM background across multiple science and math subjects. In past semesters, students I have worked with have seen 10–20 point increases in exam scores, reflecting both improved understanding and confidence. My lessons primarily target college-level General Chemistry, General Biology, Cell Biology, and Microbiology courses. However, I am also able to adapt my lesson plans to accommodate high school–level chemistry and biology as needed.
