About Amrita
I’m a first-year Commerce and Computer Science student at UNSW. I’ve been programming for around five years now, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I have experience in full-stack development and machine learning through internships, and I was recently working at an early-stage RAG-based startup as an AI Product Manager.
I’m also a very creative person. I’ve been painting for over 13 years across different mediums, and I’m a writer as well. I’m involved in theater and filmmaking, which I really enjoy being a part of.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy the subjects I work with and like explaining things in a way that makes them easier to understand. I find it really rewarding when something finally clicks for someone, and I want to help students feel more confident and do well in school without feeling overwhelmed.
In my free time, I enjoy watching movies and series and reading.

• My lessons are mainly for students from Grades 3 to 8, but I’m open to teaching other grades as well depending on the requirement. For Computer Science, I tailor lessons based on prior knowledge, whether that’s basic computer skills (hardware, software, everyday applications) or more advanced topics like coding, programming, web development, app development, game development, and even basic machine learning.
• Firstly, I start by meeting the student and their parents to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and preferred study methods. Based on that, I take a couple of initial classes to see what’s working and what needs to be adjusted. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lesson plans according to their pace and the curriculum.
• Closer to exams, I shift focus to exam-specific preparation by creating practice papers, quizzes, and flashcards based on what suits the student best.
• I have been tutoring for 2 years and have taught 7 students so far. A typical lesson lasts 1–2 hours.
