About Helena

As a communication studies student, I have always enjoyed English and the arts. In middle and high school, I loved being a part of classroom debates, and in my community college I won a trophy for my forensics team in a SoCal speech tournament. As a young girl, I enjoyed public speaking and theater, so naturally growing up this translated to my fondness of communication and speech. Currently working as a behavioral tech, it has strengthened my ability to work with other children in a positive and influential manner.

About the lesson

Lessons would start with 10-15 minutes of rapport building, (getting to know them) and what they did at school that day. Then we would dive into the curriculum, while giving small breaks in between to reinforce their behavior and boost motivation. The last 15 minutes would be for any questions, things they want to share/ talk about for next session. I believe learning can be enticing when you make it interesting.
