About Zain
Hi there! My name is Zain and I'm a recent graduate with a passion for teaching. I have a 1st Class bachelor's degree in Economics and Philosophy, and a master's degree in Computer Science, both from the University of Bristol. Since leaving university just over a year ago, I have been working as a Graduate Data Scientist in the media and telecommunications industry.
While I'm relatively new to tutoring, I'm excited to share my expertise and help students achieve their full potential. To that end, I'm offering a discounted rate for my first few students as a way to build my experience and reputation.

As a tutor, I believe in taking a hands-on approach to learning. I use real-world examples and interactive projects to help students understand key data analysis concepts and develop practical skills that they can apply in their future careers. Here are some of the key skills I teach:
SQL for querying and manipulating data:
- Writing basic SQL queries to retrieve data from a database
- Using joins, subqueries, and aggregate functions to perform more complex queries
- Modifying and updating data using SQL
Python for data analysis:
- Python fundamentals: basic syntax and data types
- The NumPy and Pandas libraries for data manipulation and analysis
- The Plotly library for interactive data visualisations
Machine learning:
- Overview of machine learning algorithms and techniques
- Using the scikit-learn library for machine learning in Python
- Using TensorFlow for deep learning
I'm also committed to adapting my teaching style to meet the individual needs and goals of each student, whether they're struggling with a particular concept or looking to take their skills to the next level. My lessons typically last for one hour and are designed for post-secondary students who are interested in pursuing careers in data analysis or related fields.
