About Tom

I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science and have already completed my Bachelor's. Alongside my studies, I'm interested in learning science and didactics – I find it fascinating to understand how learning truly works, and I incorporate this into my teaching. I've noticed that many problems, especially in math and computer science, stem from a lack of solid foundational knowledge. Therefore, my focus is on genuine understanding rather than rote memorization. I offer exclusively online tutoring – for high school students (from grade 5 upwards) and first-semester university students.

About the lesson

First trial lesson (30 min) free - just get in touch! Note: My lessons are 45 minutes long. The prices shown here are for 60 minutes (Superprof standard). Actual prices per lesson: €20 (school) / €25 (university). About me: I'm a Master's student in Computer Science with a completed Bachelor's degree. I offer online tutoring in Computer Science and Mathematics for high school and first-semester university students. How I work: I study didactics, learning science, and pedagogy, and I incorporate this knowledge into our lessons. This includes concepts like spacing, interleaving, active recall, targeted feedback, and I try to include your interests. I present my explanations clearly, often using graphics on the tablet. Small groups (2-3 people) are possible if you register together – the price per person is then reduced. Additional services: Asynchronous feedback: We can also work together asynchronously – you send me your homework or code, for example, and I give you detailed feedback. Prices are based on my time commitment (same hourly rate as for regular lessons). If you're interested, simply send me your materials and I'll give you a quote. Learning plans & exercises: I also create individual learning plans and exercises – professionally formatted with LaTeX (including checkboxes, weekly structure, etc.). These can be combined with regular lessons. Again, a quote is available after reviewing your materials. Organizational details: Exclusively online via video call (Zoom or Proton Meet – I'll provide the room). Flexible scheduling. Cancellations up to 24 hours in advance are free of charge; after that, the full price applies (rescheduling is possible). First trial lesson (30 minutes): free.
