I believe that programming gives you an extra edge above anyone else as it helps to simplify a real life problem by applying logic and algorithm.
As I am a web developer my main focus would be on web technologies like: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and a core language with a framework like ASP.Net with C#. In the back end i would prefer Ms-Sql.
Teaching method will be mostly practical and less theories as it will be fun if you build something on your own at the end of each day.
