About Selin
I am a violin tutor with 6+ years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Composition (Violin Focus), passionate about taking the violin into modern musical landscapes. My lessons focus on crossover styles like Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop Strings, and World Music. I use looping pedals, effects, and improvisation to create unique live performances.
Students learn to compose solos, reinterpret popular songs, and experiment with sound texture. I focus on building technical skills while encouraging creativity and personal expression. Beginners and advanced players can explore their musical ideas confidently.
Lessons integrate performance, composition, and technology. Students practice improvisation, layering loops, and creating original arrangements. Each session encourages curiosity and innovation. Let’s push the violin beyond tradition and explore new sonic possibilities together.

I teach violin with a focus on sight-reading, rhythm, and musical accuracy. My lessons help students navigate ledger lines, complex rhythms, and multi-part scores with confidence. Visual-to-finger coordination is central to my systematic approach.
Students learn to anticipate notes, recognize patterns, and play pieces instantly. I combine technical drills, exercises, and real music examples to reinforce learning. Each session is designed to build fluency and independence.
I work with performers in musical theatre, worship, and ensembles, tailoring lessons to their needs. Beginners start with step-by-step guidance, while advanced players tackle more challenging material. Feedback and consistent practice are integral to progress.
Students leave each lesson able to read music confidently and perform accurately. My teaching develops both speed and musical understanding. Together, we make sight-reading a natural and enjoyable skill.
