About Ruthie
As a violin tutor with 10 years of experience, I have successfully taught around 300 students from different age groups, including high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them achieve their musical goals step by step. My teaching approach is based on flexibility, clear communication, and encouragement, as I believe every student learns differently.
I focus on teaching strong fundamentals such as posture, bowing technique, finger positioning, and tone quality, while also encouraging students to enjoy the process of learning. I design lessons according to each student’s level and goals, making sure they progress steadily.
I also provide regular exercises and practice guidance to support improvement outside of lessons. One of my notable achievements is helping students gain confidence and develop a deep interest in violin. My aim is to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.

My violin teaching style is based on communication, adaptability, and practical learning experiences. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals to ensure they understand both technical and expressive elements of playing. I focus on posture, bowing, fingering, intonation, tone, phrasing, and creative expression while encouraging students to develop their unique musical voice.
Real-life examples, such as performing favourite pieces, practising with recordings, and understanding music in real-world contexts, make lessons engaging and relatable. I also teach related subjects like music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to strengthen overall musicianship. My aim is to create a structured, encouraging, and inspiring environment where students gain confidence and develop a passion for music.
