About Violet
While I am still in my undergraduate studies myself, I am confident in my tutoring expertise. This past fall at my pre-professional ballet school, I tutored my friend in his 11th grade geometry class. Within 3 weeks of working together he went from failing the class to earning a B on the final exam. I approach lessons from a relaxed and encouraging view but the teaching I provide will still get your grades where you want them to be.

My teaching method is based on how my mother taught me mathematics as a homeschooler. I emphasize learning to think through the "why" of every problem, not just plugging and chugging a formula. I am a huge supporter of taking many notes and drawing pictures when possible. In my own college studies I find the act of physically writing, talking, and thinking through problems aids in overall comprehension much better than simply trying to work out a formula. My lessons are geared toward elementary school through most 12th grade work (my highest completed math course was Calculus 2 at Arizona State University).
