About Kim
I am an experienced teacher and my teaching license is K-6th grades. I have been teaching in the classroom for 7 years and have taught over 800 students. I can tutor anyone in these grade levels as well as struggling students who may not be on grade level with their reading and writing skills.
Depending on what exactly the student is requiring, I typically open a lesson with an overview of what the lesson will incorporate, then move to the specific details of the lesson itself. Following the "lesson" the student will be given tasks to do with me, as well as independently. Feedback from me and reflection of the lesson will happen at the end of every lesson. Homework will be given as a means to support the lesson taught that day.
Assessments will be given on a weekly basis (depending on how often the student and I meet). This is in an effort to see where the student and I were successful and where we still need some work.
I have had great success with my method of teaching. In fact because of my success rate, I was asked to teach an Honors English class this year at my school.
